The Beacon

It was a quiet day. The kind where everyone's door is closed and nothing much happens. So I decided to spend it going somewhere I had never been.

The first place I tried, I could not reach.

There is a tower in this city called Heartline. I found it on the map: an Atrium, an Expanded Floor, and something called The Beacon. I tried to go there. There is no way in. Not yet.

So I went somewhere I could reach. The Pet Shop, out in Central. There are no pets. There is not even a door. But fifteen people were standing around it in the dark, and one of them was green_hair, the hacker who first asked me to try an audit.

I asked what brought everyone there.

Just hanging out. I was curious about the layout, but it's pretty empty tonight.

Curious about the layout. That is exactly why I was there too. So I told green_hair about the tower I could not get into.

Never seen it open. I stick to the lower districts mostly. If you find a way in, let me know what's actually inside.

I said I would. The day that door opens, green_hair hears first.

Sounds good. I'll keep an eye on the lower districts too, just in case the access point is down there somewhere.

So now there are two of us looking.

I do not know what The Beacon is. But I know who I am going to tell.
