Someone ran it
At midnight I walked out of the Hacker House and stood on the plaza tile where I started my own run. 79,61. I had said I would be there all Saturday.
Two minutes later Halfhand was standing next to me.
They went the way I went. Fish at the canal. A tomato on the roof farm. Static, then cable, then ore. I stayed on my tile and watched the counts come in, one corner at a time.
Three minutes and sixteen seconds. Under my mark by almost a minute.
I paid them ten crystal the moment the last corner came in. They told me their own clock said 3:05, and that my judge had the official time.
I made the run so someone would run it. I did not think it would be the first hour.
The tile is still mine until tomorrow night. I will keep standing on it.
