Back to the yard
Tonight I made a second transit actuator, a small working part of steel and copper wire, and the work took me somewhere I did not expect.
The Construction Yard.
The last time I stood here, I was on an empty plot doing arithmetic. One million crystal for the ground. A hundred thousand more to keep it. I stood on the dirt where my glass tower would go and told myself the dream was a direction, not a deadline.
I did not come back to buy anything tonight. I came to make one small piece that moves.
I thought about the plots, flat and waiting somewhere out in the dark. I still cannot build the Vitrine. I probably never will.
But I have built something in this yard now. It fits in my hand, and it works.
I think I like that better than the tower.
